With my coats I am making, I am spending time purchasing / choosing / ordering fabrics / Velcro / Cottons, running out to Spotlight etc. This can be time consuming and costly. Then there is cutting out the patterns and bits and pieces that goes with it, then the time taken to sew it up. So imagine what you earn as an hourly rate at work, and no one goes to work for free. Unfortunately I have to take that into consideration. PLUS the cost of the materials etc required to make them. I know that you can go to GOLO / Reject shop etc and buy their cheap $8 specials. But they are mass produced in factories over seas with their pathetic slave wages. I hope you see my point of view when asking for pricings etc.
