With reports circulating that Russia President Vladimir Putin snubbed President Uhuru Kenyatta during his trip to Russia, the Russian Government through its embassy in Nairobi has dismissed the reports saying that Uhuru was not invited by the Russian Government but by Russia National Chamber of Commerce. In a statement sent to the press on Thursday morning, Russian foreign official representative to Kenya said President Putin was and he is more than ready to meet President Kenyatta who was in Russia for bilateral trade relations. He said President Putin called Mr Kenyatta when he was in Ukraine and assured him of his cooperation with Kenyans in energy and manufacturing industries. He also assured him that he will send a huge delegation of Russia’s top officials during the Jubilee Government’s 50 year celebrations to be marked in December. Regarding the International Criminal Court (ICC) charges facing Mr Kenyatta, the Russian Government said Kenyatta is innocent until proven guilty by The Hague based court.
