With so much left to see and so much left to do, Alan Hoeberling - TopicsExpress

With so much left to see and so much left to do, Alan Hoeberling was a blessing to those around him in his all too brief life journey. A vibrant and active young man, Alan and his family enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, but being together was their greatest treasure. Deeply loved and dearly missed, the heart of Alan continues on in the memories he leaves behind. Just as the Spice Girls were hitting the music charts, the Macarena had everyone hitting the dance floors. The year 1996 is also fondly remembered as the year of the O.J. Simpson trial while EBay made its debut on the world wide web. For gamers, the launch of the Nintendo64 and Pokemon Gameboy was all the rage. However, nothing compared to the joy and excitement Cory and Amanda (Laundry) Hoeberling experienced on January 9 of that year when they welcomed the birth of their son, Alan Joseph Hoeberling into their hearts in Alpena, Michigan. That very day, young Alans grandpa was undergoing triple bypass surgery, and had much to look forward to with a new grandson to love. The Hoeberling family made their home in the northern Michigan community of Hubbard Lake. With loving and caring parents, Alan was doted on and loved abundantly. During his childhood, he enjoyed the company of his Siberian Husky, Louis, and his cat, Snowflake could always be found sleeping next to Alan each night. He attended the local schools, and went on to play the saxophone in the fourth grade. During his youth, Alan experienced the wonders around him and enjoyed numerous adventures with neighborhood friends. All boy, he loved riding four wheelers, swimming, and camping with his family. From a young age, he formed a great interest in anything with an engine. Considered a true motor head, he loved everything about cars and motorcycles. A few of his most favorite memories included receiving his first four wheeler, his first car, and going to his first concert. Alan formed a close bond with his Aunt Angie and Uncle Jason growing up. In his eyes, they could do no wrong, and he loved spending the weekends with them. Throughout his youth, Alan was an active and spirited boy, and always won the hearts of his family members with ways all his own. One of Alans defining childhood moments was the birth of his baby sister, Emily Jo on October 8, 2007. Named after her big brother, Alan Joseph, Alan took the responsibility of being an older brother to a new level. He waited a long time for a sibling, and cherished his younger sister. There wasnt anything he wouldnt have done for Emily Jo, and he liked spending time with her. Although the Hoeberlings considered themselves a lower class American family, they made the most of what they had and enjoyed all that life had to offer. Alan was very proud of his family and in many respects, was happy and content with their life. Alan went on to graduate from Alpena High School a year early and was planning on attending college this fall. Upon meeting his step-grandpa Schleben, Alan made quite an impression. His grandpa owned Schleben Construction of Posen, and he gave Alan the opportunity to learn the construction trade when he was only 14 years old. He continued working there and did so through the last of his days. With his laid back, casual style, Alan never got too riled about much. He was compassionate and caring towards others, and his sense of humor and funny nature brought smiles to those enjoying his company. He seemed to be always smirking about something, and often talked using gestures with his left hand. It was rare, if ever, to have seen Alan wearing a pair of shorts unless he was swimming, and he absolutely loved his work boots. Above all, Alan enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends which brought him the greatest joy. He was always there when you needed him, and his considerate ways was nothing less than a reflection of the love he undeniably received from those who dearly loved and cared about him. Gone too soon, the memories Alan leaves behind will warm the hearts of all who knew and loved him for days to come. With much to look forward to and a full life ahead of him, Alan Joseph Hoeberling, age 18, of Hubbard Lake, sadly died at home on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. Deeply missed, it is his love that will be remembered most.
