With the 49ers looking as if they have things well in hand against - TopicsExpress

With the 49ers looking as if they have things well in hand against the hapless Washington Redskins, lets take a look at whats in store next week when the St Louis Rams invade Candlestick Park in what amounts to a playoff game for the Rams, who still entertain thoughts of a wild card berth, and need a win to keep their hopes alive;they also need help from other teams as well. The Rams, having won two in a row, have been doing things with a back-up quarterback and a very physical defense that doesnt give up many points and always plays the 49er tough, whether at home or on the road. The Arizona Cardinals, one game behind the 49ers with the same record [ 49ers beat Cards and hold the tiebreaker, until they meet again] and both teams hoping to catch the Seahawks, play the Eagles with the winner having the inside track at a playoff berth. I m one that hasnt much faith in a qb like Carson Palmer, but he seems to have righted the ship in Arizona;who would have thought a qb like Palmer could do what hes doing after such a horrific time in Oakland? Classic qb that needed a change of scenery. Over in the AFC, 6 teams with a record of 5-6 remain in playoff contention, with the Steelers and Ravens playing on Thanksgiving, with the loser playing out the remainder of the season while the other stays alive in the muddled AFC. The Chargers entertain the up-and-down Bengals ,who lead the AFC North but go up against a Chargers team coming off an upset of the Chiefs in Kansas City on a last minute td pass by Philip Rivers, who looked sharp against the #1 rated defense in the league. Should be a great weekend of football starting on Thanskgiving! Have a great evening!
