With the 9/11 Anniversary approaching, I know well see many posts on FB similar to this one...... but this acct. from a husband who didnt get to say goodbye is so haunting. 13 years already. Seems like yesterday. I have tears. So many hurt, hurting and coping with loss so unfair and incomprehensible! Terror & evil exists and my apologies to friends who believe we are safer today..... but I just dont see it. Im educated enough to know, were in fact, worse off. While I struggle with both sides of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan issue - I dont believe our President has a good grasp on ISIS or the terrorist threat to America & Americans all over the world. And I wont defend what appears to be an administration set to divide Americans rather than unite the country to act in a way that proves all those men & women who have died since 9/11 havent done so in vain..... just because I share a party affiliation. Im actually embarrassed by my party & the GOP! I think our current government (from the top down) has only served to weaken us (both sides of the aisle!). I fear that with a lesser military and military presence in the Middle East, were in for an even more devastating tragedy. I really worry about it. I fear mostly for our youth who will pay in more ways than one for this governments lack of governing (Im being nice here). 9/11 is a reminder to me to do all that we can do..... and that starts with VOTING. Vote tomorrow, Mass. friends. Cant complain when we vote the same old story in these offices time & again or when we dont vote at all. 5 minutes or so time commitment. Get out the vote!! And might I suggest ALL new blood -- vote for the person - not the party! Know where candidates stand on the issues! Thinking of & praying for the victims and families of 9/11 and the brave men & women in uniform who served, are serving or died protecting our freedoms!
