With the horrible prospect of the election of a CFMEU/Andrews - TopicsExpress

With the horrible prospect of the election of a CFMEU/Andrews government in Victoria becoming quite likely, one should always try to look for some kind of positive future scenario. Shouldnt one? Imagine the following: Daniel Andrews and his union comrades take control of Victoria, and in no time at all: Most marginal small to medium businesses have closed down. The public service has doubled in size and the payroll increased accordingly. State taxes and charges have doubled. Workplace safety becomes even more of a joint-venture between all unions and the CFMEU/Andrews Government. The Arts are given a massive funding boost - employing thousands of unemployed artists. Coal-fired power stations are progressively closed down as more very costly wind and solar installations are erected. Private sector workers join the dole queue in record numbers; unemployment reaches 15%. Road building all but ceases as more money is channeled into schools, hospitals and the expansion of government services. Victorian Ports become closed shops - with only union members able to gain entry. Ships stop coming to Victoria. The CFMEU and affiliated unions control all remaining workplaces, again creating a closed shop situation across all remaining industry. THEN, AFTER ALL OF THE ABOVE GLOOM AN DOOM of the first term of the Andrews/CFMEU government, some good news: THE Abbott Government is re-elected, a majority of senators agree to return industrial relations to the states. All states agree. Real competition between the states in all areas is born. A new Victoria election is held. The Andrews/CFMEU government is tossed out in a landslide. New Victoria Premier, John Roskam, declares Victoria open for business and sets about making Victoria Australias most free state, with the smallest and most cost-effective government and with the lowest amount of regulation in the federation. A state where: Government is lean and mean and hardly ever seen. All employees are able to negotiate an employment contract with their employer, free of government interference/intervention. Where private property means private property, and the person in charge of a property has complete control over who is allowed on that property, and within existing laws, can carry out business on that property as they see fit. All ports are privatised. Most, if not all, state-owned transport businesses, and any other state-owned businesses are sold off or privatised. All state schools are given more control of their operation and a voucher system is introduced for all students to use at the school of their choice. Where all government subsidies to any activity be ceased. The CFMEU and other similar unions can no longer survive - as the power of individual freedom takes hold and sheep-like people become obsolete. Where productivity increases and all those who are productive realise far greater prosperity.
