With the hottern hell 100 mile endurance ride to come a little later this next month (August 23) I have been looking for a reason to put in some long hours in the saddle. Well, that reason came the other day in the form of Achilles Tendonitis. So the verdict is that I have to keep off the running shoes for a week (maybe longer) to let it rest. My brain wants to keep pushing, but if I do, I risk more serious injury. I could potentially put myslef out of the race in November. So... with that being said... Im not running for a little while. Thats okay, Ive decided that in the meantime, I am going to get in plenty of bike time, focus more on my swim, and do some strength training to build power in the legs and back. It wont be time lost, it will simply be time re-purposed. Getting back the running endurance should be cake as long as Im all healthy. Any tips or tricks to a speedy recovery are welcome. So far, I got compression, stretching, ice, foam roller, electric stimulus, and rest. #MyTriLife No excuses... To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift. #GoPre
