Women are not physically suited for flying fighter planes for long - TopicsExpress

Women are not physically suited for flying fighter planes for long hours, especially when they are pregnant or have other health problems ~ Shri Arup Raha Ji, Air Chief Marshal Oh really? Are they always pregnant? Are they always ill, sir? Please dont justify prejudice -_- ~~~ Meanwhile, on the missing airplane, read what Kajal Mathur shares. And read carefully :) - My sister, being an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, many a times has maintained that an aircraft in not build to malfunction mid-air. She says that the system of even the cheapest airplane is so immaculate that it wont crash even if one of its engine fails, leave aside other lesser mid-air glitches. Its strictly human error that is responsible for an aircraft crash. That error might be in form of irresponsible/unreliable behavior by its pilot or non-compliance with the maintenance guidelines by competent authorities. A couple of days ago Malasia Airlines Flight MH370 went inexplicably missing just like it happened in LOST. Until now the authorities have not found any lead in investigation to ascertain the cause of the crash. Last month I visited Delhi for which I had booked my tickets (Indigo Airlines) much in advance. On the day of journey I was informed that my flight was cancelled due to some technical issues in the plane that was supposed to fly us to Delhi. A couple of weeks later the news came Indigo plane catches fire in Kathmandu. My sisters tells me that almost all of these Indian carriers ignore the mandatory overhauling schedule of their aircrafts in order to save huge amount of money expected to be spent on maintenance. Even in course of regular maintenance, the airlines prefer to stick to only utmost necessary repairs having the basis of their negligence in the fact that minor glitches do not cause aircraft to crash. Its incomprehensible to me as to why the airlines flaunt safety norms. If some people decide to not buy tickets from a particular airline then the airline will simply reduce the price and find new customers. This is not something that we can boycott. This is something where airlines have to forego the practice of nepotism while recruiting their in-air staff to prevent an incompetent pilot from reaching the cockpit. Why do they think that it can never happen to them? Dont they travel by air? This is something where Civil Aviation Authorities have to have some teeth. Why cant authorities cancel the license of those companies which dont strictly abide by the ground rules of maintenance? Why everybody just adopt this chalta hai attitude?
