Women bodies threaten agitation demanding punishment of rapist IMPHAL (IT NEWS): Five major women bodies of the state had threatened to launch serious form of agitation if the state government authority fails to arrest the rapist of a college going girl at Yairipok while she was on her way for admission to the college. In a press conference held today at Manipur Press club the women bodies question on why the police failed to arrest the rapist even though the identity of the rapist has been revealed by the victim girl. The women bodies present today are representatives of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Ima Lup Manipur, AMKIL, Kanglamei, WASAK and CHITUWA. Speaking on the occasion a spokespersons said that the alleged rapist as identified has been presently kept inside the Thoubal district SP office without awarding any sort of punishment. A complaint in the matter has also been lodge with the Yairipok police station. The women bodies said if the rapist has not been punished the women organisation will not remain silent and start launching various form of agitation.
