Wonderful day today! Started with the spiritual Divine Liturgy and communion at our Assumption Greek Orthodox Church with our loving Metropolitan Bishop Nicholas, Co-celebrating the liturgy with Fr. Michael. I truly enjoy when the Metropolitan is at any service. His wonderful chanting voice, his great educational sermons and his warm smile are so uplifting. Our daughters, Elaine and Andrea, with her husband Mark and their handsome sons attended morning liturgy with Ted and me. During this Holy Saturday St. Basil liturgy the Metropolitan and Fr. Michael walk around the entire Church throwing the bay leaves up into the air (this signifies our Lord`s triumph over death). When the Metropolitan came upon our grandsons, eagerly waiting to feel the leaves cascade down on them, Metro Nicholas stopped, smiled at our grandson, Andrew, then with his hand raised over Andrew`s head, Metro Nicholas paused.....and then sprinkled the bay leaves slowly on top of Andrew`s head, and lovingly patted him on top of his head and proceeded to walk around to our other grandson, Nicky, and did the same thing. The boys were thrilled!!! Huge smiles!!!! They will NEVER forget this special blessing from the Metropolitan. After Church, Elaine came over for our marathon Easter Baking!!! She is the fastest Koulouraki roller ever!!!!! :) Love baking with her!! We make a great team!!! She is such a huge help!! Bless you, beautiful!!! Kali Anastasi to all. Xo xo
