Word For Today....Pride is one of the greatest barriers to the recovery process. When we hit bottom, we reach a point of emptiness in which pride loses its power over us. When we become proud, we should remember that pride is sin and has destroyed many people for thousands of years. Pride is not new, but we can overcome it by humbly giving control of our life to God. (Jeremiah 13:15) We often try to change by making resolutions to do what we know is right. But change doesnt happen overnight, and we dont have the power to do it alone. Taking action is good, but if we try to change in our own power, we will fail. We must begin by admitting that we are powerless to change. This is the first step toward allowing God to transform our heart and life from the inside out. If we are willing to cooperate, God can and will make permanent changes in our life.
