Working with legends... In 2005 I got to work with one of my favourite filmmakers - Steven Spielberg - on the movie MUNICH. I was cast as one of Louis bodyguards along with my friend and legendary french stuntman and actor Albert Goldberg. I shot with the rest of the stunt crew in Hungary and then moved with the unit to Paris with just myself and Albert. There we had the best time because it was a much smaller crew and I got to be around Janusz Kaminski (cinematographer) and Spielberg in close quarters and really see two masters at work. I saw Spielberg taking notes on a simple notepad and passing them to various departments. I watched as he directed, with intricate camera moves, a dozen actors eating and talking around a large table. I saw him block action, deal with departments and engage with the lead actors Eric Bana, Mathieu Amalric and Michael Lonsdale. Talk about an AMAZING film school!!! I found Spielberg polite, quiet, funny and highly focussed. Janusz was his right hand man - a joker but very serious about his craft. I also met Kate Capshaw, Speilbergs wife who he met on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Unlike much of the popcorn superhero I work I do, Munich is a great film and one I am proud to say I worked on. Nick
