Worth repeating. Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all - TopicsExpress

Worth repeating. Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy that to hear that my children walk in truth. (3 John 1:2-4) I have said this before but it bears repeating. Many are misled by this scriptures interpretation. Many people look at it as the right to gain wealth, and power. While it is saying that John is praying for our prosperity in everything it is also saying, that it depends on our growth in our faith and our souls. If we are prospering in our souls then the wealth comes from our hearts not our pocket books. There is nothing wrong with having money but if we put our eyes on the money we have missed the point. For the Bible tells us that we can not serve two masters. If we are serving God then the money is not important, because He provides us with our needs. If we serve money then God is left out of the picture, for we feel that we can do anything because we have money. There is a great deal of that going on in this world today. If we follow Gods direction and His will then we will have everything that we need and many things that we want. God will provide, but we must serve Him and grow in Him first. When we grow in Him we will find that the other is of little interest to us. It is just a residual to His love and blessings.
