Wound healing is an intricate prosses in the repair or reconstitution of a defect in an organ or tissue, commonlly the skin. These chain of events activates systemic prosess that alter the physiology. Wound healing represents the respons of an organism to a physical distruption of a tissue/organ to re-establish homeostasis and to stabilize the entire organism’s physiology. There are many factors influencing this proses, including local and systemic factors. Therefore, spesific measurement has to be taken to optimize this proses. As a surgeon, any kind of surgeon, who deals with wound healing in their daily practice, must fully understand this proses. This workshop is an intensive, year-long skill practice development opportunity for general practitioner from designated individual. The program includes a variety of skills and experiences related to wound healing. The workshop is designed to enhance practicing skills and knowledge to manage all types of wound, understanding the pathophysiology on wound healing and factors affecting it therefore are able to alter these factor to achieve optimal recovery. The specific wound treatment such as in diabetic foot ulcers, burn wound care, and how to manage patient with stoma will be provided in workshop program.
