Wow, James heads back to Cleveland after 4 years in Miami w/ 2 NBA - TopicsExpress

Wow, James heads back to Cleveland after 4 years in Miami w/ 2 NBA Championships. Im sure his decision was a tough one that ultimately was made based on what he felt was right for himself, his family, and his future. He returns to Cleveland a more mature and better player than he was before which will help The Cavs chances at a NBA Championship run, but as it was with the Heats loss at an attempt for a 3rd Championship, no one man can do it alone. Im not mad, nor sour for King James decision to head back home as I said previously one must do whats right for themselves, and their family, BUT... At the end of the day its about what his Legacy will be. Where will he rank amongst the all time greats when the final chapter is written? When a champion lose, u dont abort, u re-strategize. Jordan didnt leave when the Bulls lost.... Magic didnt leave when the when the Lakers lost, Bird played thru 80s to capture 3 with Boston. And an even greater example of what a true champion is (not denying James of course) would be Tim Duncan and The Spurs who won 5 championships over a 16yr span. Theres something that speaks volumes about a Champion and his loyalty to his Championship winning team. However, some want it fast and easy, while others are patient enough to reset, rebuild and play the essential chess game to make sure all the right pieces are in place to secure a Checkmate. I was NOT a Lebron fan prior to him joining the Heat; I became a Lebron fan because of him joining Miami, and his contribution to Miami is what won me over. He earned my respect therefore Im a fan. However, it takes more than one player to make a team, so while I support James and his future, itll be interesting to see what type of team he plays with in Cleveland vs the team he couldve played with in South Beach. I wish Lebron nothing but the best as hes most DEFINITELY earned my for 3 reasons: #1. Its apparent that he sees an opportunity to cement his legacy by being the first great to lead the Cavaliers to an NBA Championship therefore giving Cleveland their first major championship in like 40yrs maybe? I mean, cmon were talking bout Ohio for crying out loud.... They need something for those people there. #2. He obviously loves his home state and wants to lead them to a championship, sort of spread the love if you will. I guess all in all theres a lot to be said about it because as I mentioned above, obviously it wasnt the max contract that brought the prodigal son home (he was gonna get the money he wanted regardless).... But maybe that same loyalty that kept the all time greats before him at home winning multiple championships. #3. It takes a lot of guts and bravado to return back home to a place that called you every derogatory word in the English dictionary and then burned, pissed, trashed, etc. on anything that had your (Lebrons) name or face on it. I mean, one wouldve thought this guy was the second coming of Hitler! Funny though cause all of them that rebuked and scorned Homs for wanting to be a winner (and for leaving) will be hailing Lebron upon his return to Cleveland... And maybe rightfully. Good luck James and thanks for your contributions to The Miami Heat! ~PHS
