Wow, what a rush yesterday was!!!! Hosting the first ever Total Oil Movember 200 at Formula E Raceway was a blast. What can I say; a massive thanks to the ten, no wait, nine celebs that were present to captain their teams. I have sent a nice email to our at TVNZ Mr Wallace laying quite the penalty down for his no show, but a big pat on the back to Lance Gribbsy & Darcy from Meurant Motorsport for manning up and racing on with 4! The first heat was a run away for the Kids In Cars team, Nigel showing everyone a clean (ish) pair of heels to race off to the win, however meant for the final he had to start from Grid 10 in the reverse grid heat 2. Peter Martin had a whisper & laid the challenge to teams to financially buy drive through penalties against other teams as a way to raise extra funds, which was presented to the competitors, accepted & swiftly met with Clinton Cunningham the first to get the penalty stop tab ready to use! The second heat started well, again no carnage into Turn one, however the Formula E team had to restrict a few of the teams a little due to a bit of push and shove, but hey rubbin is racing isnt it?? The first across the line at lap 200 was Wade Racing who were standing on tables, cheering on Bradley in his final stint! Team Michael Pickens Racing came home in 2nd place & Team Tennant Racing managed to dodge a few competitors and use their penalty stops well to haul in the last podium spot of 3rd. Nigel Karl managed to take the Tow Truck award, for some agressive passing moves & or spins he dealt out on track! Paul Vazey and the Superstock 351 Crew took home the Horses A$$ award for a little tanty that was thrown at the end, but as its Mr Vazeys birthday today we let him away with it, gave him some chocolate & sang a happy birthday song for him! Unfortunately the Rally discipline represented by Clinton Cunningham Rallysport were presented the Slowest Lap award & got the awesome Keep on Puttin Custom built trophy & the mini golf prizes thanks to Treasure Island Adventure Golf. Fastest Lap went to Scott Tennants team, who narrowly edged out Team Pickens. All in all a massively successful event, for everyone involved & the Movember New Zealand raising over $1500 for the awesome charity. Thank you too all the drivers who raised, the celebs that gave their time, to my friends & family that helped ensure things ran smoothly & a massive mention to our sponsors, please look after these guys where you can, without them, this would still be a pipe dream of mine! Thanks Greer from Oil Imports / Importer of Total Lubricants in NZ for being the best major sponsor of an event, Phil Formula E, to Myles from Jack Links Beef Jerky, Shane from Abstract Screen And Sign ltd, Teressa from Mars NZ, Nerolly from 1-day, David from Carters Tyre Service, Jess from MOTHER ENERGY DRINK, Bryce from Open Wheel, Jeremy from NZ Dirt Track Racing Magazine, Todd from NZV8 Magazine & NZ Performance Car, Ayrton from Motorsport Plus, to Angela of ProudKiwi Speedway Videos, Yaz from NZ Stockcar Crazy, Bruce from Waikaraka Park Speedway, Paul Caunter from Taggs-R-Us, Adam from Dobbs Motorsport, Macgors Supporters Speedway NZ Facebook Group, Mike of Hooncorp, Mike from Hyper Stimulator New Zealand and the team Photobooth and Moustaches for coming along too. Planning starting now for the 2015 Movember 200, whose keen???
