Wow, what a shocker!!! GREAT NEWS!!! The US is re-opening an embassy in Cuba and will work with Cuba in normalizing diplomatic relations. The nasty, inhuman, and obsolete 50+ year embargo has not worked! It has punished enormously the Cuban people. Easing restrictions and working on normalizing relations in my opinion is the only way to open doors and bring changes FROM WITHIN not imposing them!!! For 50 years we have imposed sanctions on this tiny island in the Caribbean yet We have / had relations with far more abusive and brutal regimes and dictatorships; to name a few,: Marcos (Philippines), Pinochet (Chile), Fulgensio Batista (Cuba), Somoza Sr. and Jr. (Nicaragua), The Shah (Iran), Trujillo (Dominican Republic), Francois & Jean Duvalier (Haiti), Mobutu (Zaire), and the list goes on and on…..not to mention we have normalized diplomatic relations with Vietanam. Just to remind you, the Vietcon killed over 50,000 US soldiers!!!....and yet we have normal relations with them but why not Cuba? What about Communist China? Not only it is a very repressive government, they also steal our technology etc……yet somehow, It has become our biggest trading partner but we can’t deal with Cuba? I hope this is real and not another political plot!!!!!! My Caribbean brother and sisters deserve it……they have waited and suffered long enough!!!!
