They will help open up and strengthen the pelvis and the hip joints in a gradual, progressive and safe manner. These poses will also help tone and develop strength in the pelvic muscles and internal organs making pregnancy for the mom and the baby a lot easier. It seems to me that having babies with stiff, inflexible and weak pelvic joints, muscles and internal organs will make it much harder for the mother to endure her pregnancy for 9 months and deliver the baby safely.
