YOUNG PEOPLE ARE WORKING HARD.... Over two years back, I met with Tonny Rutakirwa at Serena Hotel. We had scheduled our meeting for 8am, I arrived an hour later at 9am. We went on to have a chat that lasted till 4pm. I hadnt taken breakfast, I hadnt taken lunch, but I can assure you, that was a day that was very remarkable in my life. Its the only day I sat in one place for all that time without food, just 110% focused on imbibing in the Words of Wisdom and knowledge that came in from Rutakirwa. Hes three years my Senior but I have learned more from him that I would have learned in 20 years. Looking back, theres one person who really gave me the confidence to be an Entrepreneur and that was Tonny. Let me tell you something. Yesterday I slept and awoke in the middle of the night just to write down a name of a Company that had just been given to me in my dream. That was the Fortune Group of Companies. This was a special dream, everything from what we are supposed to do in that company was give to me. How to start, who my business partners will be and what my share-holding capacity should be. So, once again, I also take a moment to say that Fortune Group of Companies it will be. But before anything else, grab some money, go buy that Business Owner Magazine issue that features Tonny Rutakirwa. Its proof that young people with the right mindset can change and transform this country. At 24 years old, Tonnys story is too big to be contained in just books. I was featured in the Business Owner Magazine last year as a 21 Year Old CEO. Today, I couldnt get enough of reading Tonnys story because I felt connected. Nothing tastes sweeter than reading a Mentors story. Yes, any young person out there, you are not alone. We are in this together. We are the generation that carries forward the Revolution. When I think of Young People steering this generation forward, I think of hundreds. I think of a young man, Paul Kisakye who a month back started the WORDY CAKES movement. I think of my friend Francisco Kyambadde, the 21 year old behind Gagawala Group of Companies, the best graphics and web company in Uganda. I think of a girl, Brownie Ebal, the young lady behind the Ekitabuk project that donates books to School children. I think of Sheilah Gashumba, another great young lady who never stops working hard at her art. I think of my OG, Brenda Iriama, the first runner up in Miss Uganda whos followed her dream right from Secondary. I think of my Brother, Brian Turyamureeba, a man whos accumulated more degrees in various engineering fields. I think of Patrick, a man who started a restaurant that supplies the top hospitals and organizations in Uganda... I know we are headed for greatness as a generation. In some countries people make it because of their countries, in Uganda, we choose to make it despite of our government. We are the change we need to see in this country. And we dont have to be politicians to change the country. We can be great doctors, great fashion designers, etc
