YOUR SOUTH JERSEY CHRISTMAS EVE AND CHRISTMAS DAY FORECAST: AN EDUCATED FIRST GUESS Now at the end of my last post, let me remind you I said to beware long range forecasts, as they can and often do change. Case in point, what looked to be a storm this weekend looks to now be a non-event altogether. Some long range forecast ideas work out really well a week out, others fizzle and fail. We always hope for the former, but acknowledge the latter when necessary. With that in mind, heres my holiday ideas for Christmas week. MONDAY DECEMBER 22ND: A round of rain is possible, light to moderate rain, as temps warm to around 50. TUESDAY DECEMBER 23RD: Looks mainly dry and probably great for holiday travel. Milder too as we continue a pre-Christmas warmup as highs climb through the 50s. WEDNESDAY(CHRISTMAS EVE DAY): Wet, warm, and windy with a stronger low pressure passing by well to our west, up the mountains and into the Great Lakes. That puts on the warm side of the storm, and highs could feasibly approach 60 degrees on Wednesday. So warm perhaps, but also wet and windy with a round of steadier rain likely for some or most of the day. WEDNESDAY NIGHT(CHRISTMAS EVE): Any rain ends, we stay quite windy for Santa, but as winds shift around to the west, well also dry out and turn colder. While the colder air looks likely, I dont think it will be accompanied with any snow. So our chances for a white Christmas look pretty small right now. THURSDAY (CHRISTMAS DAY): Colder, still windy, but also mainly dry with partly sunny skies. Feeling like Christmas with the colder temps(gusty winds will likely add an additional chill), but not looking like Christmas with no snow before the holiday. After Christmas, a colder and stormy pattern MAY add up to some snow before the New Year. But one holiday at a time...lol...
