Ya know , everyday I see endless drama, betrayal, and people looking for someone to feel sorry for them . All on this glorious thing called facebook . Today I watched it used to tear a family apart from within . A simple comment made by a couple members of the family , and a simple misunderstanding by an outsider, turned into two members tearing each others hearts out with words..The problem with this thing called facebook, is you are not face to face with anybody . Therefore you do not pick up on body language or facial expressions . With that in mind , you cant tell if someone might be joking . As a result , someones feelings get hurt , that person defends themselves , and retaliates with words that are more cruel and more harsh than what the other has said, in an attempt to win the battle . In this case , as is with most , no one wins. The rest of the family is left scratching their heads wondering what happened . The first reaction is to try and figure out who is to blame . But how does one choose sides ? You cant . You cant choose one and cast the other aside , leaving that person on the outside . Not when its family . So now what ? Neither side budges . Things get ugly. Family members stop talking . No one admits their mistake. Now its not a family anymore . Years ago , I was taught to never leave anyone behind . This was a code of honor that anyone who served or serves in our military understood , and lived by. Strangers at first , but family after time . The bond of blood relatives should be this strong . But I find myself questioning that bond right now . I refuse to choose sides on this one , because two wrongs do not make it right . Good night .
