Yarras start the new year in style! Yarraleen has started 2015 in great form with both the first and second XI notching up back-to-back wins. First XI Rd 7 Manningham 85 all out Def by Yarraleen 3/89 Yarras showed why we are one of the best bowling attacks in the comp by blowing away Manningham for 85 runs. Jason Fergus 3/15 of 10 overs and Dave Chilcott 3/12 of 6 was super with the ball. But the skipper lead the way with bat (52 not out) and ball (2/11 of7) to lead yarras to a strong win. Rd 8 Bullen Temp 7/109 Def by Yarraleen 5/113 The show rolled on in Rd 8 with Yarras registering another emphatic win against Bulleen Temp. Again it was lead by a strong bowling performances by J Fergus 1 for 9 of 10 overs and D Chillcott 2/21 of 10. With couple of strong wins and finally a settled team, the ones are strongly pushing for a finals spot. There is lot of excitement brewing at Yarras...can that man J Fergus drag this team to a fairytale finals berth? Second XI The Dream Team also got off a to a positive start with two commanding performances against Mulgrave and Glen Waverly Hawks. Rd 7 Mulgrave 92 all out Def by Yarraleen 4/96 Prash 3/13, Tanmay Bhat 2/14 (yes, this is the right guy), J Nikolas 38 Rd 8 GWH 5/118 Def by Yarraleen 2/120 Cal Stranger 2/15 Prash 2/23 J Nikolas 32 M Sovani 34* P Boyce 43* Seconds have been very clinical and placed second on the ladder going in to the home stretch. Can the Dream Team beat Kerrimuir in a top of the table clash next week to celebrate 100th game for Yarras superstar Jack Dullard? Can Kristian Pana keep up his sensational Rep form? Third XI Thirds have got off to a shaky start with two losses but skipper John Bourikas is still confident of a late season surge that could land this team in the finals. Rd 13 Bulleen Temp 8/138 Def Yarraleen 9/105 S Challa 3/15 L Pane 2/4 J Bourikas 2/15 H Smith 30 R14 Melbourne Falcons 7/262 Def Yarraleen 136 All Out G Dullard 2/20 H Smith 2/26 H Smith 30 Hamish Smith has been super this year for the 3rds with both bat and the ball. Lochie Pane with 5-2-4-2 (Yep, its Lochie not Matt) showed theres more to his game than aggressive batting. But the highlight, no doubt, was the 7 runs scored by 11 year old Terry Pana who is flaying senior attacks all over the park in 2015. U18s Last but least, the most exciting team ever to play for Yarras have finally got that elusive win under their belt. Yarraleen 4/115 Def Black Burn North 103 All Out Playing the best team in the league in a 20 over match Adrian Vidajic rewound the clock to re-capture some of the synthetic form that has made him a household name around north-eastern suburbs. Vida made 52 with the bat well supported by Nadi 23 and J Dullard 16. With the ball Adrian was unplayable as he ended up with figures of 4 overs 3/10. Matty Ice Man Pane was equally impressive with 1/18 of 4 including bowling a brilliant last over to bring Yarras home. Also, the game marked the return to form for J Dullard as he took 3/21 and the question on everyones lips is Is the King Back?.
