Years ago, my flight from West Africa to the states was delayed - TopicsExpress

Years ago, my flight from West Africa to the states was delayed for three days. Our bags had already been checked, it was the end of the trip so we didn’t have any money left, some of the elderly passengers didn’t even have medication, but the worst part of the situation was that the delay started out as a hour, than two hours, than we were put in a hotel and told that the plane would leave in the morning, and then the next afternoon and so on until we were literally sitting ducks for 3 days. There is more to that story (isn’t there always) but this morning I thought about all of my friends here in DC that are stranded due to the Government shut down. It is bad enough that they are not getting paid during this time off, but I can only imagine that as each day passes, the anxiety increases because of the unknown period of delay. For example if they knew that the shutdown would last two weeks, it may be a financial burden but perhaps the two weeks could be enjoyed as an unplanned vacation. However, this day by day, hour by hour waiting must be torturous. Today, May all the Federal Government workers that are furloughed find peace in the midst of chaos. May we all find assurance that when times are hard and we don’t have control, it is our greatest opportunity to walk in faith and be open to the flow of abundance, recognizing that ALL things ultimately happen for our highest good even when we can’t make sense of it. May we daily find the patience to watch things unfold or conversely find the strength to exercise our right of RESISTANCE when it is clear that we are in an unjust situation. May we pray for discernment to know how to ACT. ~Ubuntu
