Yes, Im aware there is nothing in this weeks paper about Morenci and Fayettes Memorial Day observances. Weve been spoiled by Jerry Bach who year after year let us know what was coming up, who was speaking, etc. Jerry doesnt organize the event any more and no one has taken his place in the PR department. If I forget to ask, then theres nothing in the paper, which is what happened this week. I assume there is no change from the past: The observance begins at Wakefield Park at 10 a.m., then moves to Oak Grove Cemetery. Remember, we dont have a parade with candy throwing, wailing fire trucks, ATVs doing wheelies. This is a solemn event. Remember what its for.
