Yes, Mariah sounded less than stellar on the tv program last night. So what? When you have as many amazing live performances as she does in her history, theres little to do to take away from her legacy. Mariah not only (perhaps) single-handedly changed the course of mainstream pop vocals forever, but she also has always written her own music (and not with 5 other songwriters either). Every single female pop singer (and quite a few males) is influenced by this singular talent and her ridiculous ability and musicality. At this point, the legacy is so strong that she could speak sing and Id still pay attention. And heres a sample for those of you too young to know what Im referring to.
