Yes, Tyler and I had a good road trip to Kansas City,MO for his interview with ATT. After the interview we went to see some sites of downtown KC.One of these sites was the Union train station. In 1975 I worked for a demolition company out of Topeka,KS. We had a crew of 4 men to start the demolition of the canopies where the trains would stop and let passengers off on the platforms. There were 5 platforms on the west end and 5 on the east end of the train station. It took us 6 months to take them down and cut up the steel. Our last project was to take the 325 foot high smoke stack down by hand using small jackhammers. This took us 6 months to take down too. I was making $5.00 and hour and climbing 325 feet everyday without any safety gear in those days. We use to walk on the top of the wall at 325 feet everyday. It was a time that I will never forget. Today Union station in KC,MO is finally done with there remodeling after 38 years. As Tyler and I left the Union train station, we began to see homeless people on the streets in downtown KC,MO. There were 5 homeless people per city block. In 1975 there were about 1 homeless person per 2 city blocks. When I use to do demolition on 5 story buildings, the crew and I would always have a homeless person in the building the next morning because they did not have any place to go. The homeless person would leave while we began our work day. These homeless people opened Tylers eyes a little to see how the real world is today. It opened up my eyes because I did not know it was this bad after 38 years. If you want to know how the people in the U.S.A are living, then just take a trip to KC,MO to see how bad our country is doing these days. I have seen lots of things in my lifetime when I worked in KC in 1975, but its 10 times worst today. Now I wonder what its going to be like for our grand-kids. Its starting to scare me a little these days. Someday I would like to take all the grand-kids and family over to KC,MO to Worlds Of Fun and spend the day. Maybe next year.
