Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus....and today mine took the form of a young Hispanic lady who didnt speak a word of English. In the hustle, chaos and haste of running errands this morning I left my purse in a buggy in Food Lion parking lot. I did not realize it until I had driven across town to Walmart when I started to get out of the car. Of course, I panicked and returned to Food Lion as quickly as the holiday traffic would allow. When I got to the office window and asked about it, they smiled and handed me my purse with every dime, credit card, checkbook, etc. still in it. I asked if they knew who had turned it in. The Food Lion employees could describe her, but could not give me a name...they just said that she seemed quite excited that she had found it and could turn it in. As I was leaving I spotted a young lady in the check out line who was smiling joyfully and nodding at me. I could tell by her look that she was my Christmas angel. I held up my purse and asked was it you? She very timidly nodded yes. I hugged her and tried to give her a reward. Eventually, she accepted it but not without much encouragement and many thanks from me. She was talking; I was talking and neither of us spoke the others language, but honesty, goodness and gratitude are universal and cross all language barriers. There are still good people in the world....Merry Christmas and Feliz Navidad to all....
