Yes, at last #BookBucketChallenge came to me too.To choose 10 books from many that we read along our life is to many a difficult task. Attempts to list book does presents to the world something about the person as such too. So Let me begin to set up my list by thanking Abhinay and Deepak, yep they are the culprits. 1. A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. Awesome story and well established characters brought out brilliantly by an author who is not afraid to kill off major characters fearing backlash from the fans. Thank you GRRM for ignoring us 2. Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. This big book does show many things to many people. For me it gives us lesson on violence. About how its not just physical or being out right rude. He told us about calm, composed and gentlemanly way of inflicting pain. Without this it is impossible to comprehend the rationale behind Annas death. 3. Annihilation of Caste by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. While dismantles all the attempts to sanctify the cast system, Ambedkar assert the need for its annihilation and gives us a project, that of, Annihilation of caste. 4. [Chandalabhikshuki by Kumaran Asan. Only poem in the list for the great verses which I still cannot forget while also calling for reform and construction of a progressive society.] 5. [Kerala History and Caste System by P. K. Balakrishnan. A meticulously researched and well argued work build upon the archaeological evidences and different sources which narrate the life of humans, animal, plants, land and water of a period of centuries.] 6. The Naked Woman by Desmond Morris. An age at least to every part said Andrew Andrew Marvell , But I believe it was heard by Desmond morris asA Chapter to every part. So he wrote a book providing a study of female body from toes to head allotted each chapter for the biological, socio-cultural and political analysis of each body part. 7. Prophets Facing Backward by Meera Nanda. In a times when the post-modernism launched its attack on science, Nanda finds the message of Ambedkarite movement which called on the reason to change the world and annihilate the oppressive structures. 8. [Randaam Uzham [Second Chance] by M. T. Vasudevan Nair (MT rewrites the Mahabharata from the perspective of Bhima. Characters and events are brought into earth and providing a brilliant analysis of each character.] 9. The Democratic Paradox by Chantal Mouffe. Opens up the paradoxes inherent in the formulation of liberal democracy. It points out to the fact that the problem is not lack of liberal democracy but the contradiction which is inherent in the project of uneasy compromise reached between liberalism and democracy. 10. Tipu Sulthan by P. K. Balakrishnan (A comprehensive analysis of Tipu as an individual and ruler.) This being done, let me nominate. I would like to see the choices that some of my friends would make, so let me call upon my batch-mates Binny (This lazy മോന്‍ might not put up his list) and Gayathri. Plus Pratheesh , Sreehari (At least now, let me see a post written by you in fb), Sethu and Abhinav Surya.
