Yes thatis true. It has been happening since 1961,French government has made the first president of Cote dIvoire ( Ivory Coast) to rent the presidential palace located in Plateau ( downtown of Abidjan). You have to remember that the late Felix Houphouet Boigny was a sort of Pro-France just to advance economically his country and not really to piss off France even though he did not really like the West. So,this happened until his death in December 7th,1993. The renting of the President Palace of Cote dIvoire continues with the former President Henry Konan Bedie ( 1993-1999) where he was overthrown through a coup dEtat by a military junta held by General Robert Guei ( 1999-2000).In 2000,when President Laurent Gbagbo came to power through an election organized under the regime of the military junta, he won the election, but General Guei wanted to stay in power and that led to the uprising of the people of Cote dIvoire who took the street to chase the military junta out. President Laurent Gagbo taking the oath and officially being proclaimed as the President of the Republic of Cote dIvoire by the Ivorian Constitution in 2000, as a Nationalist, he wanted to change/ modify all the contracts signed between France and the previous governments. To stop Cote dIvoire paying the rent of the Presidential Palace in Abidjan, Laurent Gbagbo has implemented the project of the transfer of the administrative capital from Abidjan to Yamoussokro( the native village, now town of the late Nana Felix Houphouet Boigny) with the construction of the House of Deputy, the Presidential Palace in Yamoussokro) and all that with the resources generated from the oil, natural gas,and cocoa revenues. This is where France has started its hatred toward President Laurent Gbagbo. Thus, in 2002, the first coup dEtat against President Laurent Gbagbo, just 2 years later after he came to power. The coup dEtat was orchestrated by France who financed and armed the rebels under the guide of Allassane Dramane Ouattara. Now the rest everybody knows what happened. So,yes France is a danger for not only its so-called former colonies but the entire Africa. Until now, France is still viewing those so-called Francophone African countries as its personal proprieties and that is what President Laurent Gbagbo opposes against and this is why France through its military force( Force Licorne) and its multinational companies: Bolloré Group, Bouygues,Orange financed the rebels and African mercenaries from Burkina Faso,Niger,Nigeria,Togo, from the entire West African region to wage war against the Nationalist President Laurent Gbagbo.
