Mortimers story This very handsome chap was brought to the centre recently as a stray. His gorgeous fur was in terrible condition, so unfortunately for Mortimer when he was neutered he also got a new haircut ! We noticed that Mortimer held his front paw up a lot. So with more investigation by x ray it was discovered that Mortimer had been shot with a pellet gun and the pellet had shattered his bone. The pellet is visible in his x ray. Because he has lived with this injury long before he came to the centre unfortunately there is little the vet can do but treat him with pain relief. He is now being monitored and will probably be required to be on pain relief the rest of his life which the centre will cover when he is adopted. An adorable, pleasant big chap who enjoys attention. He loves relaxing in the good weather on the cattery shelves and often rushes to meet you when entering the cattery. Here at the centre we would be very keen to see him in a loving home of his own after his terrible previous stray life. If you could offer Mortimer his new forever home please visit him during opening hours 12-4pm Tuesday-Sunday at our centre in Eglinton Derry/Londonderry He seeks a home with no young children. Many thanks
