Yes they are! They are not a disposable commodity - something to get rid of when you are tired of the responsibility, want a new puppy, get new carpet etc. They feel, they love, they grieve the loss of you, they consider you their family - FAMILY! They love you even when you dont do anything to deserve it. In fact, even when you are cruel and thoughtless. They need more than food, water and a yard. If you cant give them that - get a stuffed dog!
