Yesterday - prepared for another funeral that is today. Took care of the normal Monday admin stuff. Had a Google Hangout with Marty Duren and pastors from Northwestern Baptist Association. Chatted with the staff about taking an unprecedented number of young people to Childrens Camp this summer. Worked in the yard after work - relocated some of Pattys plants and gave the rest of our ornamental grasses a haircut. Charlie came over and used his chop saw that I borrowed. Quite busy. Checked FB this morning and discovered some friends had posted a reference to todays election. I do hope to be re-elected to the City Council, really elected for the first time since I was appointed one year ago. I have enjoyed learning the processes of local government and working with the Mayor Bobby Williams and other City Council Members. We pastors have to be careful with our politics. We also have to encourage making informed decisions. Another friend posted a link to an analysis of the Mayoral election. I could not believe it. Several things ran through my mind. One of the first is that this person really knows how to distinguish the issues from the personalities. If you are still deciding, this would be worth your time. It seems like this is the post where the information about the election begins - itsbl4derunner.tumblr/post/81251884078/did-you-say-that. Please get out and vote today.
