Yesterday I discovered that a friend passed away. She was 12 years younger than me and I assumed that since her birthday is this Saturday I could stop by her Facebook page and tease her about heading into another decade of life. Kimberly Joyner and I go back so far that I cannot say that she worked at my Outback, because she was there when I discovered the place 13 years ago. So I eat at Kims Outback. She was a big part of my going back there again and again. One Thanksgiving Kim took her job as a server to the extreme and, knowing that I would have to work the holiday, she prepared a plate and surprised me with it at my job. I am still shocked at the news and I didnt even take advantage of the opportunity to see her on a regular basis--I know how devastated her family and close friends are. My prayers for strength and solace go out to them.
