"Yesterday I stood watching honeybees make over some plants that had bloomed in the back yard. They were simple, single stemmed plants that had bamboo-like stalks. In previous years, I had pulled them out so that we could get through the narrow walk path with the mower. This year, I decided to let them grow across the path just because. Before, I had looked at the plant as a weed, and treated it so. Today, I see that the bees know beauty and worth in all things, not just in the showy lilies and hibiscus. I ran to get my husband, and together we watched hundreds of honeybees busy at the flowers. Life goes on as we allow it to go. Sometimes we are too hasty, and we pull up roots that should be left to thrive the way God meant them to thrive. I glory in the bees which are a sign of health in our small wildlife habitat. Oh that this were the case across the planet. A gentle vibration is felt from the beating of their wings. I am captured up in spirit from the sheer magnificence of it." ~ Freda M. Chaney
