Yesterday Rick and Monica Kumer came over to work with the bees. The bees have been doing an outstanding job of multiplying and producing honey. The two packages of bees we started the season with has increased to the point that the hives have been split and there are more hives out there. Now we are waiting to see if we have mated queens with each hive. One of the advantages to having bees around is comb honey. I vaguely remember having comb honey as a youngster but you rarely see it any more. Rick gave me a frame of honey that I cut off into a container with a lid. Now all honey is good but there is something special about comb honey. You know you are eating pure honey, just the way the bees made it. It is some awesome stuff. Oh, and this honey is what Rick calls wild flower honey, I thought it tasted like there was a lot of clover in it myself. ;) Whatever it is, its darn good.
