Yesterday a wonderful ten year old taught me a lesson in business. He wanted a book really badly, a Shakespeare Sticker Dressing book, asked me to reserve it (which I prefer not to do) and because he seemed honest enough to come back the next day as he had promised I did. A while later ... another little girl asks about the same book and has the money there (having been upstairs to her classroom to get it) so I took the label off and sold it to her instead. The boy came back, euphoric that has Mum had dropped off some money for him. Cringe. He was cross. And RIGHTLY so. I should not have broken my promise and I shouldnt have bent the system. I have the book here and will take it today, and as an apology I have attached some Shakespearian Insults which he can try out on me to his hearts content because I goofed. So really it as much of a thank you as it is an apology. Dont you love it when kids teach you stuff, this lesson is Learn to say no and stick to your guns Missus! #shakespeare #usborne bit.ly/1l5R0WC
