Yesterday my son was formally introduced to the African Diaspora. As soon as he came into the house Joey asked him Hows school? Do you plan to follow in your fathers foot steps? What are your goals? As the dialogue ensued, my son being the laconic individual he is only offered a few words into his insight. Joey said, I ask you these things because when I see you, I see me. And when you see me, you see yourself. Then he pointed to his arm, signifying its color. Remember when you miss out on a opportunity it will take you more time, more effort, and more energy to catch it the second time around. I tell you these things from experience.
