Yesterday, one of my oldest friends, Russ Trounce, came home to get his son, Nick, to go play basketball. Russ was waiting in the car in the driveway. When Nick came out, the car was across the street in the neighbors yard and Russ was slumped over the steering wheel. Nick called 911, but it was too late. Russ had passed on with a massive heart attack. He was 47 years old. He and his wife, Allie, have five children. He was an amazing man from an exceptional family, and I have nothing but joy and gratitude for the many smiles and encouragements he blessed me with. He was a great person, a good man, and while I feel for those closest, who will miss his presence the most, I am inspired and enlivened, knowing he lived beautifully and touched many while he was here. We can ask for little more. Life is as precious as it is beautiful.
