Yesterday, someone attacked me for my tribute to a fallen hero - TopicsExpress

Yesterday, someone attacked me for my tribute to a fallen hero Captain Onubah. He said I shouldnt have acknowledged his death as a sacrifice for Nigeria. When I receive attacks of this nature, I usually try to educate the individual. Seriously, my heart was full of tears when I heard about the death of Captain Onubah. I had the opportunity to join the Nigerian Defence Academy shortly after my Youth Service Corps in Kainji, where I met Air Vice Marshal Osim, then the second in Command at the Airforce Base, Kainji. I never wanted to be a military officer because of their straight jacket way of thinking that makes them uniquely professional. Many of us are not created for the military kind of life, where you cant argue your point even when your superior is wrong. I declined the offer and my friend felt I was stupid because only few young Nigerians will decline the offer of joining the Defense Academy. What am I trying to say? Captain Onubah paid a great price for Nigeria. He sacrificed his life for our freedom. He shed his blood that Nigerians might be free from the threat of terror. What more sacrifice can a man render to nation than to fight in defense of national sovereignty? Most of you are attacking us for criticizing the government. But none of you attacking us has openly condemned the government when you heard that a group of Army Generals are sabotaging our fight against terror by selling ammunitions to terrorists. It was one of those AK 47 assault riffles they sold to Boko Haram that killed our friend Captain Onubah, a young man in the prime of his youth. I have no respect for those hypocrites on facebook attacking everyone who condemns the corruption in our nation. My respect keeps pilling for all the soldiers who cannot say NO to their superior officers even when their lives are on the line. I will repeat that whoever joins the military has made a conscious decision to fight and die for nation. When they die, they die as heroes, and they deserve our heroic tributes. My respect to Captain Onubah and other fallen heroes. Only God will judge the sponsors of terror.
