Yesterday, the 18th of July 2014, myself and Matt Evans went on a hunt to find the best VDR we could. Our route was based on our past dining experiences mixed with some reviews thanks to this page. We both believe that the best scale to use for this was a rating /10 rather than /5. Our first stop was Southern Dragon in Golden Grove, pictured top right. Roll: Very crispy and fresh. 8/10 Salad: This roll contained lettuce, carrot, radish and cucumber, the strangest part was it felt like there was some sort of coleslaw in it we were very unsure of. 6/10 Meat: Very tasty, marinated well. 7/10 Overall: 7.5/10 Second stop; Ks Food Bar at Clovercrest, pictured middle left. Roll: Crispy but didnt seem too fresh. 7/10 Salad: carrot, onion, corri, radish, carrot and radish were pickled perfectly, and the sauce was good and plentiful. Meat: Good crackle, tasted slightly burnt every now and then but overall it was a good roll. Service was good, overall rating: 8.5/10 Third stop was Ingle Bakehouse in Ingle Farm, pictured middle right Roll: Not the traditional roll but was still a good all round roll. 7.5/10 Salad: all the usual youd expect, sauce was great. 8/10 Meat: they use a kind of mince that was very nice and accented the meat well, marinated chicken and BBQ pork was also used. 8/10 Overall this was a great roll 8/10 Fourth stop was Phu Xuong on Hanson Rd, pictured bottom left. Roll: Very fresh and crispy. 8/10 Salad: carrot and radish were very nice and pickled, they used spring onion which we found interesting, used 2 different sauces which were also good. 7.5/10 Meat: this roll was packed with meat, there was bbq pork, various loaf-like meats and they also used a pate. good amount of crackle. 8.5/10 Overall this was a great roll. 8/10 And finally our last stop, the very well renowned Strawberry Fair pictured bottom right. We were certainly not let down. Roll: Fresh, tasty, crispy. 8.5/10 Salad: Lost for words, all the ingredients complemented each other. 9/10 Meat: Myself and Matthew were silent whilst consuming this, with the occasional Oh my god because this was a seriously good roll. crackle and pork was insane. 9.5/10 Overall the experience was great, well worth the 45-50 minute drive, service was great, theyre very kind people. 9.5/10
