Yesterday, the North Texas area was hit with severe storms. For those of you wondering about your Junior League sisters, below is a message from Jeannie Deakyne, President, Junior League of Arlington: The storms that moved through North Texas on October 2nd caused extensive property damage across the DFW area. The Junior League of Arlingtons Center for Community Service was affected - the exterior, roof and parking lots are damaged, though the main building remains operable. Our staff vacated the building before the storm - all staff and members are accounted for and safe. A number of members and families remain without power and have property damage (mainly roofs, windows, and tree damage). Our schools and university remain closed while the region works on restoring power and assessing damage. Thank you for the well-wishes of the Leagues and members who have reached out to us. We will spend the weekend cleaning up the exterior of our Center in preparation for our October General Meetings on Monday. We remain grateful for the building that houses our headquarters and provides meeting space for our community - damaged but not gone!
