Yesterday was difficult. All of the progress I felt we were making - TopicsExpress

Yesterday was difficult. All of the progress I felt we were making with Lilys slow drug wean took a few steps backward. My brave little girl spent her day profusely vomiting with her head hidden under a blanket. She looked like she was experiencing a horrific hangover. Thankfully during evening rounds, the team went back up on Lilys drips and there is a plan to create a documented SLOW drug wean schedule that will be followed by all of the rotating teams. Last night was dressing change night. All of the bandages covering her IVs, PICC line, and incision/chest tube sites needed to be changed. Although Lily felt miserable and hates this, she was very helpful to her nurse. This morning Lily went down for her second heart catheterization since her transplant. They will be taking 5-6 biopsies from her heart that will be checked for organ rejection. We should have some preliminary results back later this evening. Today I am thankful for my mom (aka Mimi). It is her birthday, and although we are not physically together she is never far from my mind. My mom has jumped on an airplane in a moments notice on multiple occasions, spent countless days/nights at the hospital with Lily and I, and loved & supported our family in times of need. Happy Birthday Karol Nusbaum! Eucharisteo
