Yesterday was my first day in Kolkata. I travelled in an ambassador taxi, auto, metro n the local bus... Ate mixed fried rice n fish in hot garlic sauce at Tandoor Park. Rice was simply tasty, fish was delicate n juicy and I couldnt have enough of the sauce. I also had an egg roll and some lemon tea which had a jaljeera kinda taste.. I enjoyed both. The phuchkas I had were big n the burst of the lemon, spice n chilli in my mouth was hmmmm. Best of all was dinner - 2 plates of rice, egg curry, chicken curry and soya potato subzi for Rs 100... Each n everything including the rice was tasty. People here are warm, friendly and helpful. I find the city cleaner than Bangalore and the roads are way better. Shopping here is so much fun... Unlike expensive Bangalore, here you get good quality at very reasonable prices n the better you bargain, the cheaper it gets. Thank you Anindita Sarkar for making this trip possible. I am loving it!
