Yesterday was one of the best days Pop has had in a long time. He even drank 1/2 of a strawberry milkshake. Today isnt as good. We thought Pop had slipped into a coma as he was unresponsive most of the day. I just got here and was able to wake him a few times. Hes struggling to talk but he was able to say that he felt lousy and that his shoulder hurt. The nurse gave him some morphine (he hadnt had any since 3am) and about 10 minutes later he said it helped. I asked him if he wanted any more of his milkshake (it was in the freezer) and he did. He was only able to take a few swallows though because he kept coughing. He is back to sleeping comfortably now. These good days to bad days to good days to bad days are an emotional roller coaster. Im just trying to be thankful that they are able to quickly stop any pain he is having. When he was in the hospital, he was agitated and in so much pain. Now I know why so many people are thankful for Hospice.
