Yesterday was one of the best days ever - my sweet Madeline left the building. A month ago no one was able to get her out of her cage. A victim of extreme abuse, she trusted no one. Patience and love got her this far, but she still has a long road ahead. Thank you to Kathryn Salvo Mahoney for helping to get her out of that cage and my dear, dear friend Kelly Anderson for seeing in her what I saw the moment I laid eyes on her - an amazing dog. Curtis Scott you are my hero - I owe you more than I could ever repay. Your belief in her abilities and the time you are devoting to her recovery is the greatest gift of all. You all possess the most important qualities-compassion and love. I lose faith sometimes in humanity, seeing the things that I see at the shelter, but when I look at all those precious souls I know I am here for a reason. You guys just gave me hope again. And Madeline, you made my heart grow!
