Yesterdays Independent carries an article lamenting that UKIP has seen fit to use the 1400 victims in Rotherhams grooming scandal as a poster campaign subject, denouncing the Labour councils decades of laissez faire. The general thrust of the article is that Ukip is being divisive on the multicultural front, not to mention upsetting the victims. I dont see what there is to criticise. The Independent has got a nerve bleating about sensibilities of victims, as though fighting for a elected Police Commissioner post were somehow subject to Queensbury Rules. The overarching principle appears to be dont do anything to upset community relations. Well, tough. There was a community there that did nothing. Otherwise youre in Appeasementville, and its Dont say boo to a goose otherwise you will upset our traditional way of life. Well since four schoolkids came down from Leeds and murdered fifty people in London in the name of some half baked ideology, we dont have a traditional way of life. That went out of the window a long time ago, like Rupert Brookes and will there be honey left for tea. Britain is as intolerant as anywhere else, its just that we havent got any guns. A good job they dont grow on trees.
