Yet another outcry demanding condemnation for what took place at #CharlieHebdo . What is it exactly that we should be sorry for? We have no affiliation to these crimes as they go against our Deen, so what do we have to be guilty about? The journalists of Charlie Hebdo knew full well they were vilifying the Rasool (saw) whose Ummah stretches to 1.6 billion! An Ummah who does not stand by and allow their Messenger (saw) to be insulted and depicted in a derogatory manner! Yet they persisted in their actions, hiding behind the guise of free speech! If this free speech was so precious and applied on every platform why is it that the Western Governments do no stand by and allow their flag to burned?! A flag! Yet we are expected to stand by and watch our beloved Messenger (saw) be humiliated??! And whats more they want us to stand up and condemn these actions? When the Muslims in Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq are slaughtered day in day out, do the Western governments condemn these killings?! When France killed Muslims in Mali in their most recent venture, were those killings condemned? Or viewed as collateral damage!? Such is the hypocrisy of the West. The Ummah is under no obligation to condemn a crime that has nothing to do with our Deen! If anyone should be condemning and apologising, it is the Western leaders! With a history of mutiny, aggression, colonialism, imperialism, torture, oppression, massacres, bombing, looting resources, and wars built on lies, propping up and funding, supporting and creating dictatorial puppet regimes all to serve the greed of bankers and businessmen! And they have the audacity to call the Muslims barbaric??! The Islamic ideology does not stand for such heinous crimes to take place. Our values come from the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth and they are the best of values! No matter how much provocation and defamation they throw our way, Allah swt tells us He swt will plant our feet firmly if only we strive in His way!
