Yoruba Community Visit Gov.Almakura : To Say Thank You. His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura has described the Nasarawa State Yoruba Community as critical and valuable to the survival, as well the development of of Nasarawa State, and has said his administration would always include them in the scheme of affairs. Gov. Almakura made is known during a very special courtesy visit by members of the community, which he expressed happiness and application for the gesture. He stated that the state doesn’t consider indigene and non-indigene as anyone, but who stays in Nasarawa and contributes to the development of the state and is involved in things that promote the state can be called a citizen. Lauding their industrious nature, the Governor particularly noted their contribution to the economic fortunes of the state, hence the appointment of one of them as a Special Assistant. While assuring them of government encouragement for individuals who mean well for the state, Gov. Almakura maintained that all the people residing in the state would be accorded the chance to contribute their quota to the development of the state. Earlier, the Oba of Yoruba in Nasarawa State Alh. Ibrahim Hamisu Nata’allah and the Barrister Hafeeez Adigun explained that they were at the government house to appreciate the governor for finding one of them worthy of appointment as a Special Assistant. Stating that everyone could see the work, and development done by Gov. Almakura since coming on as governor and giving their assurance that they were solidly behind him due to his people oriented policies , and how the common man has finally felt government presence. Taal is working, Nasarawa is changing.
