You are all invited to our monthly Neighborhood Watch meeting on Monday, September 30, 2013. For this month only, the meeting will promptly start at 6:00PM and will be held at the Hickory Hill Community Center, located at 3910 Ridgeway Road directly behind the Ridgeway Station. This month we will be having our first Hickory Hill Community-Police Relations (CPR) Forum. This forum will give YOU the opportunity to share your struggles with law enforcement, as well as your visions and suggestions for positive change. The forum will provide a space to ask questions, share stories and concerns, obtain information and connection with officers who work in your community, and to brainstorm about potential solutions. The results from this forum will feed into a longer-term campaign to improve community-police relations and to address the systemic issues that underlie the conflicts between the two. Be apart of the conversation as the community sets the vision of how we will deal with crime and violence in our city. While we realize this meeting will not lead to an overnight miracle, we view this as important step towards building a vision to, ultimately, create an action plan that includes solutions at all levels: political, economic, institutional, and psychological. Additional resources will be on-site, as well. They will include but are not limited to the following: Just Care Family Network, Crime Victim Center, At Home TN, and others. The forum will be hosted by Memphis Police Officers and the Mid-south Peace and Justice Center. Please come out and voice your concerns, meet and bond with your fellow officers, and have light refreshments on us!! We look forward to seeing you! Who knows, you just might have a little fun!!!
