You cannot lift an elephant for its weight but the elephant does - TopicsExpress

You cannot lift an elephant for its weight but the elephant does not feel its own weight while sitting or walking. It is because the body is included in its own consciousness, but it is outside your consciousness. The snake is dreadful to you but it is never dreadful to itself, otherwise the snake would have died of its own fear. It so happens that what is inclusive of your own self does not bring any fear, problem or unhappiness to you. The problem crops up when something is outside your consciousness. You think that the world is outside you and that is why it does not seem to satisfy you. Even if the happiness or satisfaction is poured upon you from outside, it is only transient in nature and it will wither away sooner or later. You are never tired of breathing because you think that it is the part of your being. Only, those things are the cause of your pain or unhappiness that have been imported from outside and thrust upon your self. The sub-conscious or psychological dissatisfaction or unhappiness owe its origin to the things which you consider that they are not you and separate from you. When you carry a load on your shoulder, you soon get tired. But if the thing is that which you love, your tiredness recedes to a great extent; and if it is your beloved then you will hardly feel any burden upon yourself. Your love for the object has a unifying force and it is much easier to assimilate its being with your own self. But we do not love everything and our attitude of love varies according to our likes and dislikes. A mother can climb a mountain with her baby in distress without any fatigue, but not with a baby of any stranger. By meditation we grow to a higher consciousness which is inclusive of all. The multitudinous in attitude strives to converge into Oneness of Being. We want permanent happiness and bliss. When consciousness expands to an all-embracing dimension, all the cosmic powers and ‘angels’ take care of us and we know or become (knowing and becoming are synonyms) the cosmic power that is awaiting our spiritual ascent. Trust and have faith that you are not other than That Supreme Being i.e. Absolute Infinite. .............Om Shanti!
